Drumgownagh school reunion
The organising committee are about to embark on compiling the commemorative book and they want to thank all those who have sent in photographs and written articles and those who have given us very valuable information. We know it has taken time and commitment but you’ll be rewarded with a great read. There is still a few who have not finished their submissions but that’s fine so long as we know its coming. If there is anyone who is reluctant to part with photographs but would like to be included in the book, just let us know and Jacinta will call to your house and scan them there and then. You can also drop them into Lorna Heslin, Drumgownagh, and she will scan them. If you know of someone who attended Drumgownagh School but has nobody to represent them, let us know and we will endeavour to find photographs of them. A page can be sponsored by families or in memory of family members at a cost of €50.
Bookings are now being taken for the Sunday Lunch in Lough Rynn Castle. Do remember - places are limited. And also, it would be great if we roughly knew how many will be attending the Book Launch in the Community Centre on the Saturday night (for catering reasons). Due to popular demand we have ordered another consignment of our Drumgownagh School Reunion Calendars which are available by contacting any committee member.
Classes in reflexology and aromatherapy will commence on next Wednesday night, April 24th in the community centre and for five consequetive Wednesday nights, ending on May 22nd. Class times are from 7.30 to 9.30 each night. It is essential that at least ten people should register for the classes so all members who have already expressed interest are to come along and register on the first night.
Bishop Colm O’Reilly will visit the parish on Friday and perform the Confirmation ceremony in St. Mary’s Church at 5pm. We wish all the children receiving the sacrament a very enjoyable day.
Enrolment day in Gortletteragh NS is on Friday week, April 26th from 1.30 to 3pm. Please bring along your child’s PPS number and baptismal cert.
Out and About
The good news is that Kevin Masterson has been seen out and about in the past week. That is a first for many months and we wish him continued progress with his mobility. Kevin has been the backbone of many projects in the parish over the years.
