Tag Rugby returns to Carrick

Tag Rugby: The Tag Rugby season will be returning to Carrick on Shannon Rugby Club Training Ground on the Castlecara Rd on May 30, at 7:30. A registration evening will take place on May 16, in Murtagh’s Bar from 7:30 and on May 23, at the training ground on Castlecara Rd at 7:30. €240 per team of 12 or €20 per person.

Go to Ground challenge a great success

Carrick on Shannon RFC hosted its first ‘Go to Ground Challenge’ last Saturday as part of a schedule of events aimed at raising funds for our pitch development on the Castlecara Road.

Go to Ground Challenge: Carrick on Shannon RFC is hosting its first ‘Go to Ground Challenge’ on Saturday, May 4, as part of a schedule of events aimed at raising funds for our pitch development. The event is a 5.5km circuit of Carrick-on-Shannon requiring speed, coordination, skill & endurance. It promises to be a great day with a BBQ & prize giving in Murtagh’s Bar afterwards. Price: €10 per person or €40 for a group (5). Changing and shower facilities will be available on the day. Prize giving and after party will take place in Murtagh’s Bar from 2pm.

Rugby Club Dinner Dance: The Carrick on Shannon Rugby Football Club Dinner Dance took place on Saturday in the Bush Hotel. The club would like to express their gratitude to The Bush Hotel for their fantastic hospitality and excellent meal. Congratulations to all the nominees and winners of the various awards on the night: Ladies Team Clare McDermott – Coach’s Player; Maeve McKeon – Player to Watch; Player’s Player – Clare Carty. Men’s Team: Paddy McKeon – Coach’s Player; Player to Watch – Denis McCaffrey; Player to Watch - Joseph Kennedy. Many thanks to The Vibe the band on the night and to all who were involved in the organisation of the dinner dance
