Stars turn out to promote Big Music Week’s visit to Carrick-on-Shannon

Ahead of RTE’s Big Music Week, which continues until Friday, Robert Mizzell and Patrick Feeney were joined by Shay Byrne, Aonghus McAnally and Evelyn Cusack in Carrick-on-Shannon last week to promote the Big Music Country & Western night in Carrick tomorrow night.

For the fourth year running, RTÉ Big Music Week celebrates the very best of home-grown musical talent by bringing live performances to audiences across Ireland and all over the world.

Tomorrow, Thursday October 3, the RTÉ Big Music Week train is coming to Carrick-on-Shannon and The Landmark Hotel will be hosting all the action.

Drop down from 10am, when Charlie McGettigan will perform with Ailie Blunnie for a relaxed coffee session. This is a free performance. That afternoon from 4pm, Shay Byrne, presenter of RTÉ Radio 1’s Risin’ Time will host a very special live acoustic session and public interview with Nathan Carter. This event is also free, but it is a ticketed event, tickets are limited so contact the hotel to secure your tickets.

The action continues that evening at 8.30pm in The Landmark Hotel which will again be host to another spectacular RTÉ Big Music Week event. The RTÉ Big Music Week Country & Western Night kicks features performances from Robert Mizzell, Louise Morrissey and Patrick Feeney with special appearances from guest stars Aonghus McAnally and Ronan Collins.

The following morning, the train leaves Leitrim and heads directly to Boyle, Co. Roscommon for its penultimate stop. Drop down to Boyle station from 7am to join Hector and friends on RTÉ 2fm for a live radio broadcast and a great show!
