Ocean FM was awarded the Broadcasting Licence for the North West this week after a tight contest.
The Broadcasting Authority of Ireland announced their decision on Monday saying, “A contract has been awarded in principle to North West Broadcasting Limited (t/a Ocean FM) for the provision of the radio service for the franchise area of Sligo, North Leitrim and South Donegal.” Details on the contract will be issued later.
Licence presentations were held in Sligo on April 28. The other applicant was Tommy Marren’s Mid West Radio’s Coast FM who had previously held the licence before Ocean FM.
The station thanked their listeners and customers for their support over the past ten years. Ocean FM looks forward to expanding and developing new services this year.
