In two plays written and performed by the incomparably talented Pat Kinevane, Fishamble Theatre Company demonstrate why they are arguably the finest theatre company in Ireland.
The first of the two plays Silent won both a Fringe First and Herald Angel Awards at Edinburgh Festival Fringe 2011 and Argus Angel at Brighton Festival 2012. It tells the story of Homeless McGoldrig a man who once had splendid things. But he has lost it all - including his mind. He now dives into the wonderful wounds of his past through the romantic world of Rudolph Valentino, in this brave, bold, beautiful production. Silent has wowed audiences on its extensive Irish tours including a memorable performance at The Dock and has garnered critical and audience praise internationally in Europe and the USA. It will be performed on Thursday 17th at 8.30pm.
Forgotten is another critically acclaimed show written and performed in a captivating style by Kinevane who with exhilarating theatricality and haunting honesty, brings to life the lives of people who are sometimes the forgotten voices of society. This boutique performance is now in its seventh year of touring Ireland and abroad. This will perform on Friday 18th at 8.30pm.
The plaudits both productions have received from papers like The New York Times, The New Yorker and The Guardian are almost too numerous to mention but here. Perhaps the most telling endorsement comes for The Irish Times which said: ‘Drop everything. Book now...captivating, moving and - yes - even unforgettable.’
You can enjoy both shows for a special rate of just €30 or see either one for €17 each.
