The carnival fun continues in Carrick

After a sunshine start and plenty of events and activities over the Bank Holiday weekend, Carrick Carnival continues this week.

Pig Racing - it was a huge hit last year and the little piglets return tonight, Wednesday 7th at 7pm to run down Main Street, this will be followed by a Country and Western Night.

On Thursday, you don’t want to miss the Free Hot Air Balloon Display from 6-8pm at Park Lane.

We hope you are hungry because on Friday 6th is the Boxty World Attempt at the Quay at 2pm followed by A Taste of Carrick from 6pm. There will be cuisine from a selection of the best restaurants, cafes and food producers locally as well as cookery demonstrations.

The tone will be set by the Lords of Strut Street Show in the Market Yard and at The Quay on Saturday 7th. The 2013 Street Performance World Champions are back with plenty of silly laughs! Also on Saturday is the craft and artisan markets long the quay from 12-6pm. There will be hurling events and Breffni Family Festival have a host of activities organised. From 10pm watch the night time illuminated spectacle which will include an aerial and fire performance and live music.

The carnival will close this Sunday 8th. Discover Carrick Day from 2-6pm, craft markets and kids events.
