Leitrim Sports Partnership community coaches Pat O’Toole and Paul Kilgannon have been coaching Olympic Handball with Transition Year students in Mohill Community College, Ballinamore Community School and Carrigallen Vocational School for the past eight weeks.
All of the students have taken to the sport very well and so we thought it was fitting to organise a blitz between the three schools.
Mohill Community College hosted the blitz which took place on last Tuesday November 28, with three schools attended entering a boys and a girl’s team from each school. The Blitz saw a total of eight matches take place including boys final and a girl’s final at the end of the day.
The boy’s final comprised of Ballinamore and Mohill with Ballinamore proving the stronger side. The girl’s final comprised of Carrigallen and Ballinamore, again with Ballinamore coming out on top.
All students were highly participative with running subs throughout the game. Well done to students and teachers from all schools.
Thanks to Mohill Community College for hosting the Blitz especially their principle Una Duffy and Transition Year Co-ordinator Liz Ward and students who helped out on the day Michelle, Alanna & Gemma.
Finally huge thanks to the Leitrim Sports Partnership staff of Pat, Paul, Caolinn, Ralucca & Seamie for their work on the day.
