Eleanor Shanley performing on the Late Late Show on Friday night
Leitrim's Eleanor Shanley helped get a special Late Late Show off to a spectacular start as the show celebrated Traditional Irish Music on Friday night.
On a night dedicated to celebrating traditional Irish music, some of the greatest trad musicians from Ireland and around the world - including many of the standout artists appearing at this year’s TradFest - are providing unforgettable performances, stories and surprises.
Eleanor Shanley and Lisa Canny got the show underway with their rendition of Let Him Go, Let Him Tarry.
American folk legend Peggy Seeger joined the line-up for the Late Late Show Trad Special. She reflected on her seven decades in the music industry and still performing and releasing music at 90.
She paid tribute to her late husband Ewan MacColl with a performance of The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face, the iconic song he wrote for her. Audiences were also entertained by a special group performance of Dirty Old Town, another of MacColl’s classics.
