The Dock has a real treat for lovers of traditional Irish music with a concert by Uillean piper Leonard Barry and very special guests at 8.30pm on Wednesday, October 30.
The concert will feature music from Leonard’s new album New Road along with a host of other great traditional tunes. Joining Leonard on the night are fiddler Andy Morrow, Conor Byrne on flute, Seamie O’ Dowd on guitar, Rick Epping on harmonica and Cathy Jordan.
Before Leonard and guests begin we will be treated to the music from three young musicians from Drumkeeran; Thomas McPartlan on accordion, Caroline Fallon on flute and Aoife Fallon on fiddle.
This is a concert featuring musicians and material for his long awaited second CD to be released in early September.
Featuring alongside Leonard are Leitrim fiddle player Andy Morrow his playing being described as having “ an infectious swing”. Conor Byrne has been one
of Ireland’s leading flute players for many years coming from a very famous musical family his uncles being Christy Moore and Luka Bloom.
Also joining is Seamie O’Dowd on guitar. One of the most sought after musicians in Ireland.
Special guests on the night will also include Rick Epping on harmonica and concertina.
And Cathy Jordan, singer, bodhran palyer and founding member of Dervish and The Unwanted.
