Boyle’s Golden Boy Chris O’Dowd married English TV presenter Dawn Porter in a three day “Wed Fest” in London last weekend.

The actor, comedian, writer and producer behind the Boyle based Sky 1 series ‘Moone Boy’ due to air in September, exchanged vows with Dawn Porter on Friday, August 24 with O’Dowd announcing the news on twitter on Sunday, August 26 with a photo of the newly married couple in matching ‘onsie’ outfits and a message saying “Just married!!!!”

The London ceremony is understood to have been intimate and informal, attended by family and friends. Some well known wedding guests included Brian O’Driscoll and Amy Huberman, Fr Ted writer Graham Linehan and XFactor presenter Caroline Flack.

The 32 year old ‘Bridesmaids’ star later tweeted another photo on Sunday saying “Night 3 of WedFest. Amazing, tipsy, tired but beautiful vagabonds.” Dawn Porter had also tweeted, “It was incredible. I promise to tell you all about it soon. For now it’s just for us #perfect.”

The high profile couple first met on Dawn’s 30th birthday, three years later they tied the knot. Funny man and loyal Boyle native, Chris popped the big question at Dawn’s homeplace last Christmas.

At the premiere screening of Moone Boy at Lough Key Forest Park, Boyle two weeks ago Chris had told the Leitrim Observer that he and Dawn would have to postpone their honeymoon due to their hectic work schedules.

Filming on the second series of Moone Boy, the comedy TV series based on Chris O’Dowd’s youth started two weeks ago in Dublin. Filming for the series is due to move to Boyle in mid- late September.

Dawn Porter had attended the world premiere of Moone Boy in Boyle on August 11.
