The dates for one of Ireland’s leading cultural events the O’Carolan Harp Festival and Summer School in Keadue have been announced.
The 36th annual festival takes place in Keadue, Co. Roscommon over the August Bank Holiday weekend, from August 1st to August 4th, 2014.
Included in the programme of events are concerts, ceilis, lectures, harp recitals, craft exhibitions and demonstrations, art workshops and exhibitions and informal music sessions.
A large number of enquiries regarding the Arigna Fuels sponsored, Harp competition, have already been received, especially from overseas.
The Harp competitions will take place on Saturday, August 2nd, 2014.
The Summer School in traditional music, song, set dancing and sean nos dancing will the held the week before the festival from Monday, July 28th to Friday, August 1st, 2014.
A full range of classes, with Ireland’s top tutors, will help to keep the standard of tuition even higher than in previous years.
The 2014 programme mixes the best of some of the favourite acts that have visited Keadue before , with some new, vibrant, exciting talent travelling to the beautiful village and countryside.
