Music lovers are in for quite a treat as The Dock welcomes Meteor award winning singer and songwriter Luan Parle for a special one-off gig in The Dock on July 25.
Luan will be joined by multi-instrumentalist Gavin Ralston for one night only, celebrating the release of her most recent album ‘The Full Circle’.
Releasing her debut album at the age of 12, Luán Parle’s talents did not go un-noticed and she was signed by Sony Music Ireland in 2002 and was awarded the prestigious Meteor Award for Best Irish Female in 2007. She has performed support for the likes of Elton John and James Blunt and worked with some of the world’s top songwriters and producers.
Multi-instrumentalist, producer and engineer Gavin Ralston, has been involved in the music industry for many years - covering virtually every genre from rock, pop & folk to traditional, classical and theatre shows. He began his musical career performing on the Dublin rock music scene before moving to Dingle in Kerry to study Irish traditional guitar with the legendary musical genius Steve Cooney. He hassince gone on to perform and tour with many traditional and folk acts such as Sharon Shannon, EimearQuinn and Lunasa.
Luan and Gavin will be conducting an IMRO sponsored songwriting workshop on the same day in The Dock. Participants from the workshop will have the opportunity to perform their new material as support act to the show so we can expect to hear some excellent new talent on the night as well!
