Carrigallen’s Crafty Ladies are running a year long event as part of the Gathering 2013 called Gathering Stitches.
The idea is to make a quirky patchwork quilt, made with patchworks from all over Leitrim, Ireland and the World. The patchworks should contain memories or stories of what Ireland, Leitrim or Carrigallen means to you.
The only limitation is the square, finished size has to be 12” x 12” with a plain border for it to be joined to the main quilt.
As part of the event they are inviting people to visit Carrigallen for a day of creative fun, entertainment and craic on September 24. This will give participants the chance to add their story to the quilt and see the work in progress. If you are not able to visit - just post your square!
There will be a story book created with the quilt to provide details of the participants, their background and their link to Carrigallen and Leitrim.
