Did you ever make a hay rope or foot turf? Would you like to make boxty or butter?

Did you ever make a hay rope or foot turf? Would you like to make boxty or butter?

You can do and see all of this as the communities of Rossinver, Garrison, Kiltyclogher and Cashel celebrate their heritage and traditions at the Heritage Day in Rossinver Sports Field and Marquee this Saturday, July 13 at 2pm. This great day out for young and old has been funded by the PEACE III Programme through the European Union’s Regional Development Fund, managed for the Special EU Programme’s Body by County Leitrim PEACE III Partnership.

So come along, dress up in your waistcoat and cap or like the great Gatsby!

Come on your gig or your bike and play traditional games and sports. Have afternoon tea, toss the hay and drive the nail!

See all the demonstrations - pottery, knitting, creels, boxty, butter, old bikes and prams, and lots more. See over fifty large restored and new photographs from the stunning Photo Exhibition of Everyday Life in a Border Community, taken by local amateur photographers. Francie Boylan from Ocean FM will be compere for the Heritage Day.
