Once again Culture night at Solas in Ballinamore promises to be an evening full of fun and music, culturally diverse, starting at 7.30pm on Friday, September 20.
As this is always a popular event, on time is a must and you will get a good seat!
The evening will be a mix of poetry, song, music and drama; the performers … in no particular order are: Gerry Harrington, originally from Kenmare and now playing internationally will be delighting us with his Stroh Fiddle and traditional music; Kitia @ Jian Castell , something different, Italian songs to Irish Traditional tunes; Eileen O`Toole with her rendering of Canadian culture.
Poetry will be by Angela McCabe on the launch of her book of poems and Liam Breslin with an Ode to Seamus Heaney amongst others with “Goggles Up” a tragi-comic musical set in Cork 1993. Louis will also be MC for the night.
Providing wonderful music on his harp during the evening, Solas is incredibly honoured to have Mike Absalom performing throughout the evening.
He will also be reading from some of his poems. Travelling from Co. Mayo, Mike is internationally known as an artist, musician, poet, this is something not to be missed.
There will be light refreshments during the interval, all the usual Solas hospitality and Carol Woods lovely exhibition on the wall.
