Sing for Simon in Carrick on the longest day of the year, December 21.
North West Simon Community have a ‘Sing for Simon’ Carlathon at Menarys, Rosebank Retail Park, Carrick-on-Shannon this Friday, with choirs starting at 10.45am to 12.30 and again from 3pm to late evening.
December 21st is the longest night of the year - the worst night of the year to be alone, worrying about rent and debt and how to get through Christmas. North West Simon Community is going to use this day to raise awareness of all those homeless and at risk of homelessness and raise vital funding for our services in Leitrim.
North West Simon Community has been working with people in danger of becoming homeless in Leitrim, Sligo and Donegal. Our Service Users are vulnerable, lonely, worried, stressed, tired and suffering illness. They want normal happy lives again and we want to help them. With the support of people like you we can.
Eight Simon Communities nationwide are participating in Sing for Simon so should your school/choir chose to participate your voices will be joining a national chorus singing to help end homelessness.
You can sing, play an instrument, do a recitation, perform a play, dance or tell jokes, if you are interested in participating please phone Mary on 087 7708865. We also need volunteers to shake a bucket.
If in Carrick on Friday 21st please pop out to Rosebank Retail Park and support your local Simon community. If you would like to donate to North West Simon this Christmas you can do so online at www.northwestsimon.ie or by phoning the office on 071 9855005. Please consider North West Simon as “Your Charity of the Year” for 2013.
