Manorhamilton’s Padraig Thornton recently had an exquisite photograph that he took of a sunset over Glencar Lake broadcast on TV3’s national weather forecast anchored by the station’s number one weatherman Martin King.
Rightly proud of having his photo broadcast countrywide Padraig explains “I took it on Saturday, January 11. It is a photo of the sunset over Glencar Lake. I sent it to Martin King of TV3 Weather on Sunday, January 12 and to my surprise the TV broadcaster showed it on National Television on Tuesday evening, January 14.”
Padraig is a member of the Rainbow Camera Club that is based in Rossinver.
The Club meets in the Cabin at Strand Connolly Rossinver on the second Thursday of every month. New members are always welcome at any of the Rainbow Camera Club meetings.
Some years ago Padraig successfully represented North Leitrim Athletic Club and St. Clare’s Comprehensive School in Connacht as well as Irish track and field championship events.
He holds a number of highly valued medals that he won during his time in the sport when was a dedicated athlete.
