If the events planned in The Dock for the first four months of 2014 are anything to go by, it looks like 2014 will be another fabulous year for the arts in county Leitrim.
The fun begins on Saturday, January 11 with a much anticipated appearance in The Dock by 5 string banjo legend Dirk Powell and pipes maestro Mike McGoldrick alongside renowned actor Brendan Gleeson on fiddle and Frances Gaffney on guitar.
Another eagerly anticipated concert is the return of Eddi Reader to Carrick on Monday, February 17 for what will no doubt be another spellbinding performance. Three days later, on February 20th, the brilliant comic Andrew Maxwell brings his brand new Banana Kingdom show to Carrick as part of much hyped Irish tour.
The incomparable Frankie Gavin and De Danann will bring their electrifying live show to The Dock playing the venue on February 26th. That high energy show will be followed on February 28th by Rachel Sermanni from Scotland, Mo Kenny form Canada and Rebecca Collins from Ireland in a superb showcase of singing and song writing.
Monday March 8th sees the arrival of the excellent Kieran Goss and also that month there is an excellent programme of theatre including performances of Mr Foley, Radio Operator by Theatre Lovett, Fred & Alice by Callback Theatre and Uprising BY Smashing Times Theatre. The Would Be’s also make an appearance in March as do Padraig McGovern and Peter Carberry in a night of trad music on Wednesday 26th March.
