Romance is in the air in Leitrim/Sligo by the shores of Lough Gill at Dromahair for the Wild Atlantic Matchmaking & Music Festival Oct 9-12.
Leitrim Tourism Network presents this fun filled weekend of music, activities and gourmet food.
All proceeds go to Sligo Hospital Children’s Ward. Aptly located in Yeats’ “Land of Hearts Desire” the weekend kicks off October 9th with Irish and American country music at Barry’s Pub, Grange, Sligo.
Friday 10th sees the hugely popular Rackhouse Pilfer and Dan Gurrie in concert at the Blue Devon in picturesque Dromahair.
Saturday, visitors are invited to take a ‘feeling walk’ in the forest, get ‘matched’ so you don’t have to paddle your own canoe and hop on a tandem with your partner, all on a great days activity with Big Days Out in Leitrim overlooking the beautiful Lake Isle of Innisfree in Yeats’ Country. Music and matchmaking are on the cards Sat night in Stanford’s Village Inn, Dromahair,.
Festival finale Sun 12th in Fowley’s Bar Dromahair with a Pig on a Spit and afternoon music followed by a ‘welcome all musicians’ and open mic session from 8pm.
Fringe events include tarot card reading, palm reading, boat trips, self guided walks , arts & crafts, moonlight walks by Lough Gill and the enchanting Creevelea Abbey and fabulous local food experiences.
