The Leitrim Design House wishes to invite all their customers to the launch of “Somewhere” a collection of paintings from well-known local artist Vida Pain.
The opening reception is at 7.30pm on September 30 and it runs until October 28.
Vida is a Roscommon based artist, she has been the recipient of numerous Bursaries from the Roscommon Arts Office, The Roscommon Enterprise Board and Roscommon Integrated Development Company. Vida held her first solo exhibition in the Roscommon Arts Centre entitled Illumination in 2009. Since then, she has gone on to secure five further solo shows.
In 2010/11, selected shows included RHA Annual Exhibition, Rua Red Summer Show and Boyle Arts Festival. And more recently, work is now included in the Roscommon County Council Civic Collection. Vida is our guest artist exhibiting on the Leitrim Design House ART WALL for the month of October.
It’s been a busy summer with weekly craft classes taking place every Wednesday as part of our Essence of Craft Programme supported by IPB Insurance through the IPB Youth & Community Fund. An exhibition of the work produced will take place in the Dock Coffee shop on September 30.
This exhibition will run until October 11. Classes held included ceramics, weaving, felt, embroidery & applique, basket making, & crochet,
Everyone is welcome to come along to enjoy both launches which are a lovely celebration of the creativity in our midst.
