Chris O’Dowd’s TV series ‘Moone Boy’ is expected to start filming in Boyle next month from January 9-12 and is looking for local extras.
The production based on the local actor’s childhood will be filmed in various locations around Boyle and Dublin over four days in January. The Hollywood actor himself will star in the movie and is expected to be present during the scenes in Boyle.
The six part comedy TV show is expected to air on Sky1 next Summer and is an autobiographical tale of growing up in Ireland in the late 1980s. The series is based on 11year old Martin Moone and his imaginary friend, Sean Murphy who is played by Chris O’Dowd. The show will also include animation. Chris who recently hosted the British Independent Awards, co-wrote the series with Nick Vincent Murphy.
The production team are looking for local men, women and children (ideally families) to join them as extras for the comedy. These will be non speaking parts. Representatives of the production team will visit Boyle on Thursday, December 15 to meet and photograph potential extras.
