Phase One Festival and Carrick Cineplex presents a special screening of ‘Shut Up & Play The Hits’ this Saturday, December 1 at 11.30pm, with a pre-party from 10pm in Café Paradiso.
The Phase One Festival crew will be spinning some tunes from 10pm in Cafe Paradiso at Carrick Cineplex before the film screening at 11.30pm. Phase One is a new electronic music and arts festival taking place April 2013 as part of the Carrick on Shannon 400 Year Celebrations.
Complimentary wine/soft drink will be on offer for the first 40 ticket holders on the night, so arrive early to enjoy the Phase One DJ’s. There will be hot port and wine specials all night and early bird tickets for the Phase One Festival will be launched for sale. A raffle with some great prizes will also be held on the night with proceeds going towards the festival in April.
‘Shut Up and Play The Hits’ documents the conscious decision by LCD Soundsystem frontman James Murphy to disband one of the most celebrated and influential bands of its generation at the peak of its popularity, ensuring that the band would go out on top with the biggest and most ambitious concert of its career at Madison Square Gardens 2011. As well as being a music film, it taps into some more universal ideas about age and the decisions we make in our lives.
Tickets are €9 (€8 with student ID) available at the Carrick Cineplex box office, on 071-96-72000 and online at www.carrickcineplex.ie. This screening is over 18s only.
Phase One and Carrick Cineplex would like to thank their event sponsors: Findlaters Wine, Britvic Ireland and DNG Farrell.
