The award winning Breffni Players grace the stage with yet another theatrical delight ‘ Tons of Money’ by Will Evans in St Mary’s Hall, Carrick-on-Shannon from Wednesday, April 17 -Saturday 20.
Directed by Angus Dunne, this 1920s classical farce about a high society English couple Aubrey & Louise are on the verge of bankruptcy only to discover they have inherited a fortune from a distant relative. They hatch an elaborate plan to keep their creditors at by faking Aubrey’s death, with Aubrey impersonating his long lost cousin, who is next in line to inherit the money. But even the best laid plans never run smoothly especially when their butler gets in on the act by enlisting his own brother to impersonate George.
What ensues is a madcap caper of misunderstandings and mistaken identity resulting in great hilarity. Be sure not to miss what promises to be a great night of madness! ‘Tons of Money’ will be performed in St Mary’s Hall until April 20 (with possible extra night on 21st) at 8:30pm.
Doors open at 8pm. Bookings can be made through The Dock’s box office; 0719650828. Tickets cost €10-12 (concession applies).
