Dromahair is now gearing up for the arrival of the Demon into the Village this Saturday, June 29 for a day of festivities and celebrations.
This year’s festival was launched at the Woodview Inn on Friday, May 31.
The Dromahair Demons Festival has become a much anticipated annual event in Dromahair each year, and this year our theme is water, 2013 being the United Nations Year of Water Co-operation. So expect lots of watery inspired events taking place around the area this Saturday.
The Children’s Parade at 6pm will be making a big splash and the Monsoon Soap Box Race with both junior and senior entries will provide plenty of giggles. Don’t miss the Meandering Slow Bike Race with 3 categories, the walks on Friday and Saturday exploring the rich flora and history of Dromahair, and of course the duck race on the beautiful River Bonet!
Great music will fire up the festival on Saturday evening including Those Nervous Animals, Back Water Jack, Red Queen Contest and Spreach. For younger children we will have Ye Olde Fun Fair with lots of games and events, and teenagers will enjoy the Rodeo Bull, the rolling Surf Board, and the electric bike display and a chance to try them out on a short ride to the old abbey.
With lots of colourful stalls showing local talent and wonderful local food, and lots, lots more, make sure to come along with your family and friends and enjoy the mischievous spirit of the Dromahair Demon on Saturday 29th June starting at 1pm for street events, and music starting at 7pm ‘til late.
