Cleighran More, Ballinamore should receive the funding for upgrade - McGloin

Leitrim Sports Partnership is currently applying for €25,000 to upgrade an access point to a swimming area in Leitrim and Cllr Enda McGloin said that he believed Cleighran More should receive the funding.

He said: "I know there were huge numbers of children who have been facilitated at Cleighran More and the funding would go towards providing essential infrastructure to maintain that going forward over the next few years. I would ask that we send a letter  to Leitrim Sports Partnership voicing our support for Cleighran More."

Cllr Brendan Barry supported the motion saying that Cleighran More was more "suitable for swimming classes because of the depth close to the shore and more safety courses can be carried out there. A lot of people use it in the evenings and in good weather. It would be good to see that funding secured for that area."
