Planning application lodged for pharmacy and apartments in South Leitrim town

A planning application has been submitted to Leitrim County Council seeking permission to develop a pharmacy and residential apartments in a South Leitrim town.

The application was submitted on December 17 by Bryan Cribbin and seeks planning permission to carry out works on a building located on High Street, Ballinamore

The proposed development includes the partial demolition of the southwest rear of the building and a change of use from a mixed office/retail and residential use on the ground floor to a pharmacy, with residential accommodation overhead.

The proposed pharmacy would measure 233 square metres. In addition, the application seeks permission for the construction of a small residential extension of approximately 9.1 square metres to the rear of the building at first-floor level, along with the creation of new residential units.

These units include one one-bedroom apartment at first-floor level, one one-bedroom apartment at second-floor level, and one two-bedroom duplex apartment extending over the first and second floors.

The application also includes proposed internal layout alterations to suit the new uses, alterations to the front elevation of the building, including the installation of a new shopfront, and the carrying out of external works.

These external works include the provision of car parking spaces, bicycle parking facilities, and a service area to the rear of the site, along with all associated site works.

A decision on the application is due to be made by Leitrim County Council by February 19.
