Leitrim County Council will engage with the HSE to address the issue of fallen parts of the wall at St Patrick’s Hospital in Carrick-on-Shannon and seek their action in repairing it.
Cllr Des Guckian proposed a motion during a meeting of Carrick-on-Shannon Municipal District urging Council officials to contact the HSE and ask them to replace the fallen parts of the large wall that encloses the hospital’s grounds.
“It stretches from Summerhill and overlooks Lis Cara estate. It poses a danger to all who are near it and especially children who go playing along the area,” Cllr Guckian said.
Cllr Guckian stated that he had previously reached out to the HSE regarding the issue, but was informed they have no commitment in relation to it.
“They should be put under pressure to do what they should be doing anyway,” he added.
All councillors supported Cllr Guckian’s motion.
