A planning application has been submitted for significant developments to St George’s Terrace in Carrick-on-Shannon.
Lodged on March 12, the application outlines plans to remodel and convert the upper ground floor of St George’s Mews into three residential apartments.
The proposal also includes a change of use for the first floor, transforming it into short-term holiday accommodation, with the addition of a new balcony, windows and rooflights.
Additional proposed works include the installation of an awning to café/bakery shopfront and the construction of a bin enclosure on site.
The application also seeks to retain several existing changes: the use of No. 1 and No. 3 St George’s Terrace as short-term holiday rentals; the change of use of the ground floor of the Eastern Block to a café/bakery, along with associated external changes such as the shop front and signage; and alterations related to the incorporation of a former archway into the café/bakery premises.
Notably, the development involves work to two protected structures: No. 1 and No. 3 St George’s Terrace.
A decision is expected to be made by May 6.
