Leitrim councillor, Sean McGowan called on the District Engineer to put in place a programme of works to carry out t engineering works in Dromod before the street is resurfaced, "to provide up to four additional street gullies on the left side as you leave the village from the old Garda Barrack up towards Crowes Garage on the Dromod Beg end of the village."

He said that resurfacing works are being carried out in the village this year which he stated are "very welcome" but said that "on the Carrick-on-Shannon side, coming from Crowe's Garage right towards the heart of the village, on the right-hand side ; there are actually no gullies until you come down as far as The Hollies."
The official response noted that the location identified will be assessed for surface water drainage issues by Leitrim County Council following the investigations, if it is deemed necessary, additional gullies can be installed prior to the resurfacing works being carried out.
