The HSE has approved the purchase of a new site for Carrick-on-Shannon's long awaited new hospital.
Cllr Enda Stenson highlighted the lack of response by the HSE to a previous council query on the status of the hospital project.
Speaking at the March council meeting he said that it was 'very disappointing' that the HSE had “not seen fit to respond to our request for information.
“We have been given updates by other means but the HSE never even acknowledged our query,” he pointed out.
Cllr Finola Armstrong McGuire said the latest update confirmed the HSE has approved the purchase of a new site for the hospital in Carrick-on-Shannon.
“I have been told that the hospital will progress in 2019,” she told the council chamber.
