ALERT: Gardaí warn of traffic delays as Rás Tailteann passes through Leitrim tomorrow

Gardaí are advising Leitrim residents to expect traffic disruptions on Wednesday, May 21 as stage one of Rás Tailteann 2025 passes through the area before heading towards Boyle.

Cyclists will travel through Carrigallen, Mohill and Carrick-on-Shannon, with disruptions expected between 2pm and 4pm.

Rás Tailteann 2025 will cover 760km of Irish roads and features 13 categorised climbs.

This final stage of this year’s race is dedicated to Paddy Flanagan, the first cyclist to ever win the Rás Tailteann three times.

Now in its 70th edition, the race comprises five stages. Stage one runs from Drogheda to Boyle, followed by stage two from Charlestown to Clifden.

Stage three continues from Cong to Miltown Malbay, with stage four taking cyclists from Ennis to Mountrath.

The final stage, from Kildare Town to Bective, concludes the event on Sunday, May 25.

Motorists are encouraged to plan ahead and expect delays during the event.
