CLASSROOM SCHOOL

An ASD classroom has been confirmed for Carrigallen NS.

The National Council for Special Education has confirmed that an autism spectrum disorder (ASD) classroom has been sanctioned for Carrigallen National School, County Leitrim.

Fianna Fáil TD for Sligo/Leitrim, Eamon Scanlon commented, “I am delighted to receive confirmation that an ASD unit will be provided for in Carrigallen NS. I have been advocating for this unit on behalf of parents and students for some time.

“The new unit will provide top class facilities for the village of Carrigallen. ASD unit places are always in demand. This new unit will be a small step in reducing ASD unit waiting lists in Co Leitrim.

“It comes as a welcome relief to all stakeholders. It also brings certainty to prospective students and parents basing future education decisions on the outcome,” concluded Deputy Scanlon.
