Tributes have been extended following the passing of Helen Fyfe (née Boyce) of Aughnasheelin, who passed away peacefully on November 6.
Helen, known to many as Ella, was born in Scotland in 1938 and retired to Ireland a decade ago, a long-held dream she fulfilled with her late husband Dougie, who passed away in 2017.
Her wish to retire in Ireland was inspired by her “Celtic heart and nostalgic ambition,” stated her death notice on RIP.ie.
She will be lovingly remembered and deeply missed by all who knew her, especially her cherished children Arthur, Denise, Colin, Drew, Brian, Joseph, and Douglas, her son-in-law Michael, her daughters-in-law, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
She is also survived by her loving siblings Vera, Hugh, Brendan, Jacinta, Brian, and Kevin, and will be sadly missed by her extended family and many friends.

Helen is predeceased by her son Paul, and her beloved parents and siblings who have gone before her.
Helen passed peacefully at home in the early morning, surrounded by the love of her family.
A condolence message left on RIP.ie read, “Ella was a wonderful lady. We have very fond memories of her visits in recent years. A lady who will never be forgotten. May her gentle soul rest in eternal peace with her beloved Dougie.”
Helen’s funeral Mass took place on Monday, November 10, at St Mary’s Church, Aughnasheelin, followed by a private cremation service.
Her ashes will rest beside her beloved Dougie in St Mary’s Cemetery, Aughnasheelin, at a later date, uniting them once more in the place they loved most.

Another condolence message read, “Ella was the kindest lady with a huge heart. She will be dearly missed. Thinking of you all. May Ella rest in eternal peace.”
