RIP: Fond tributes shared following the passing of ‘wonderful’ Leitrim woman

Condolences are pouring in following the passing of Leitrim woman Helen McKeon (née Fitzpatrick) on Wednesday, December 3.

Helen, of Drimna, Cloone, described as a “wonderful lady,” passed away peacefully at Sligo University Hospital, surrounded by her loving family.

She is predeceased by her late husband Willie, her sons Liam and Gerard, her granddaughter Siobhán, and her son-in-law George.

Helen will be sadly missed by her loving family: daughters Eileen, Maureen, Bernadette, and Siobhán; daughter-in-law Rita; and sons Enda and Gabriel.

She will be fondly remembered by her cherished grandchildren, Heleen, George, Shane, Keelan, Adrian, Olivia, Andrea, James, Heleena, Geraldine, Sinead, Roisin, Sinead, Stephen, Christopher, Jerome, Fiona, and Amanda, as well as her great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, extended family, neighbours, and friends.

Memories and condolences are being shared on RIP.ie following Helen’s passing. “Our deepest sympathy with yourselves and all the McKeon and Kelly families and friends on the sad passing of Helen. You will have many happy memories to cherish. She was a great bubbly character,” said one message.

“Deepest sympathy to the McKeon and Kelly family on the sad passing of Helen. She was a wonderful lady,” read another.

Helen’s funeral Mass will take place on Sunday, December 7, at 2pm in St Mary’s Church, Cloone, followed by burial in the local cemetery.

“Very sorry to learn of the passing of Helen. She was a very friendly neighbour who had a word for one and all, and she will be very much missed around Cloone,” another condolence read.
