The death of Deirdre Kennedy of Corryolus in Carrick-on-Shannon occurred at Sligo General Hospital over the weekend.
Deirdre, known as Dickie, passed away peacefully on Sunday, surrounded by her loving family.
She was pre-deceased by her husband Donnacha and her infant son Donnaca Joseph, as well as her brothers Rory and Michael.
She will be sadly missed by her devoted family; her sons Ciaran, Colm, Donal, Pierce, and daughters Ána, Helen, Mary, Bairbre, Aoife and Una.
She is also missed by her large and loving extended family, including in-laws, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and a big circle of neighbours and friends.
One condolence message left by a friend described the “amazing lady” Deirdre was, her love for travel, the joy she was to be around and her sound advice. “You are loved so much and will be missed every day,” they added.

Another message told of their fond memories of Deirde: “You taught our now middle-aged daughters gymnastics when they were teenagers, you were uniquely kind to me when I sang beside you in the Millennium Choir, and you entertained the table I sat at during a Gala at the Landmark, with campervanning tales, especially getting lost in Paris city centre!”
Deirdre will repose at her home in Carrick on Shannon (N41 TK85) on Tuesday, the 10th March, from 2 o’clock until 7 o’clock, with removal to St. Mary’s Church in Carrick-on-Shannon on Wednesday, the 11th March.
