Sadness has been felt across a Leitrim community following the passing of a man remembered for his “generosity and willingness to help.”
Kevin McGoldrick, of Drumlease, Dromahair, passed away peacefully on March 13 at St Phelim’s Nursing Home. He was predeceased by his parents Alice and John, his sister Helen, and his beloved wife Mary.
Kevin is deeply mourned by his sister Marie (Bird), his nephews, nieces, extended family, and many friends.
Tributes and condolences shared on RIP.ie recall Kevin with great warmth. A former staff member of Leitrim County Council, he has been fondly remembered for his dedication and contribution during his years of service.

“Kevin worked for Leitrim County Council Water Services in Dromahaire Area for most of his working life and was one of the most reliable, committed and hardworking employees,” one person recalled. “Kevin wasn't just the best neighbour, he was much more than that, a character that the village will always remember. He was one of a kind,” another said.
“Kevin was a real gentleman and was a most kind and helpful colleague during my time working with him,” read another tribute.
The funeral mass for Kevin took place on Sunday, March 15 at St Patrick’s Church, Dromahair, followed by burial in Creevelea Abbey New Cemetery.
“Everyone knew Kevin for his smile, great sense of humour and laugh in Dromahair. He supported everything local from his local football to Dromahair agriculture show. A great character,” Dromahair GAA wrote on RIP.ie.

“He was a very nice man to meet, one of the old stock for sure, a decent and respectable man. I hope you are welcomed in heaven with a handshake and smile,” said another.
