Rest in Peace Maggie
There is great heartbreak in Leitrim this week following the passing of one of the county's oldest residents, a woman known and loved by many.
Margaret "Maggie" McKeon (née Duignan) was from Corlough, Fenagh, Leitrim and died peacefully at her home on April 6, surrounded by her loving family, in her 103rd year.
Predeceased by her husband, Tommy, her two infant sons, her sisters, Mary, Annie Alice (Sr. Columcille), Ellen, (Sr. Catherine), Bridie and her brothers Joe, Willie, Hubie and Jimmy.
Deeply loved and missed by her family, Mary, Eileen, Valerie, and Tommy, her daughter-in-law Deirdre, her sons-in-law, Martin and Padraig, her grandchildren, David, Gillian, Brian, Colm, Carla, Conor, Tom, Thomas, Joseph and Ellen, great-grandchildren Saoirse and Elsi, her extended family, relatives, neighbours and friends.
Heartfelt messages have been left on RIP.ie, from those who knew and fondly remembered Maggie, with one mourner writing,

"Our sincere sympathy to Tommy, Eileen, Valerie, Mary and the extended family and grandchildren of the late Maggie McKeon. She was a wonderful hospitable Leitrim woman, proud and dedicated to her family. She was blessed in how her family cared for her in her later years of a wonderful long life. Rest in Peace Maggie and enjoy the fruits of your long loyal life among family and friends."
Another message said, "Sincere condolences to yourself Tommy and Deirdre, Mary, Eileen and Valerie on the sad passing of your Mum Margaret. She achieved a wonderful age and enjoyed such great care from all her family. Sympathy to all her grandchildren and great grandchildren also. May she Rest in Peace."
"To All the McKeon Family: Sincere condolences on the passing of my your mother / grandmother . What a wonderfully long life she had. I remember her well all the way back to my childhood. May she Rest In Peace now," another person said.
