The following deaths have taken place in Leitrim and surrounding areas:

James McSharry Rathbawn Road, Castlebar, Mayo / Manorhamilton, Leitrim

The death has occurred of James McSharry better known as Jim, Rathbawn Road, Castlebar and formerly of Glencar, Manorhamilton, Co. Leitrim – peacefully at his home, retired Sgt. An Garda Siochana. Dearly loved husband of Carmel nee English and loving father of Anthony (London), Jarlath (Northern Ireland), John (Castlebar) Eamon (Dublin) Fergal (Dublin). He will be sadly missed by his loving wife, his sons and their partners, brother, sisters, brother in law, sisters in law, nephews, nieces, cousins, relatives , neighbours and many friends.


Reposing at his home this Thursday evening from 5pm with removal at 7pm to the Church of the Holy Rosary, Castlebar arriving at 7.30pm. Funeral Mass on Friday morning, May 25 at 11am followed by burial in Castlebar New Cemetery. Family flowers only. Donations to the Oncology Unit, Mayo University Hospital c/o Kilcoyne Funeral Directors, Castlebar.

Paddy Mannion, London / Strokestown, Co. Roscommon

Patrick (Paddy) Mannion, 176 Wood End Gardens, Northholt, Middlesex, London UB54QW and formerly of Bridge Street, Strokestown, Co. Roscommon on Monday, 7th May, 2018. Paddy will be sadly missed by his wife Breege, son Emmet, daughter Ailish, son-in-law Liam, grandchildren Keegan and Kaiden, relatives and his many friends. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam. Funeral Mass will take place at St. Gabriel's Church, South Harrow today, Thursday, 24th May, at 1pm followed by Cremation at Breakspear Crematorium at 2.30pm.

Liz (Libble) Hughes (née Nash), Milltown, Dublin / Ballyconnell, Cavan

Liz Hughes died peacefully in the wonderful care of all the staff at Our Lady’s Hospice, Harold’s Cross. Dearly beloved wife of Tony and much loved mother of Lara and Jonathan. She will be greatly missed by her family, her sister Alva, son-in-law Brian, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, her treasured grandchildren Sophie, Elaina and Mia, niece, nephews, extended family and friends. Predeceased by her parents Charlie and Lily. Reposing on Thursday 24th at Our Lady’s Hospice Mortuary Chapel, Harold’s Cross from 4.-6pm. Removal on Friday 25th to the Church of St. Columbanus and Gall, Milltown arriving at Requiem Mass at 11am, followed by burial at Kilternan Cemetery Park.

Neil Graham, Glen West, Garrison, Fermanagh

Kathleen McTernan (née Mc Hugh) 2 Temple street, Sligo Town, Sligo / Dromahair, Leitrim / Boyle, Roscommon

Kathleen Mc Ternan peacefully at the Abbey Haven nursing home, Boyle in the care of their wonderful staff. Predeceased by her beloved husband Eamon, Kathleen will be sadly missed by her son Brian, daughters Olivia and Finola, son-in-law Ciarán, daughter-in-law Dáire and her adored grandchildren, brother John Mc Hugh (Sligo), sister Lesha Simpson (Birmingham), nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Reposing at her daughter Olivia's home, 32 Markievicz Heights, Sligo, from 3-6pm on Friday with removal to the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, Sligo, to arrive at 7pm. Funeral Mass Saturday at 11.30am, followed by burial in Carrowcrin Cemetery, Killenummery, Dromahair, Co. Leitrim.
