The following deaths have taken place in Leitrim and surrounding areas:


Thomas (Tommy) Simpson, Ardikellan, Strokestown, Roscommon

Peacefully at Roscommon University Hospital. Beloved husband of Anne and much loved father of Helena, Cathal and Antoinette. He will be sadly missed by his sorrowing wife and family, sisters Kitty Kelly and Rita Lowe, nephews, nieces, brother-in-law, sisters-in-law, relatives, neighbours and friends. Funeral Mass today Saturday, September 15th, at 11.30am in Church of SS. Eithne and Fidelma, Tulsk, Burial afterwards in Tulsk Cemetery.

Kathleen Mulvey (née Skelly) Barry, Keenagh, Longford

Peacefully, in Mullingar Regional Hospital. Predeceased by her husband Ned and her son Eamon. Deeply regretted by her loving family, her son Paul, her daughters-in-law Carmel and Marta, her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, relatives, friends and neighbours. Funeral Mass today, Saturday in The Church of the Sacred Heart, Carrickedmond, at 12 noon, followed by burial in the adjoining cemetery.

Paddy Callery, Knockarush, Boyle, Roscommon

Suddenly, sadly missed by his loving wife Rosaleen, daughters Mary Kavanagh, Monaghan / daughter Patricia Golden, Knockarush, Boyle / Frances Muldoon, Rosses Point, Co Sligo / Claire Callery, Moville, Co Donegal - brothers Eugene Callery, Knockroe, Boyle and Cormac Callery, The Warren, Boyle. Sons-in-law Michael, Gerry, Sean and Egon, grandchildren and great-grandson. Removal today Saturday to Saint Joseph's Church, Boyle for Mass of the Resurrection at 2pm with burial afterwards to Assylynn Old Cemetery, Boyle. House strictly private on Saturday morning please. Geraldine Gardner (née Cosgrove) Wembley, London & Mountdelvin, Cloonfad, Roscommon

Peacefully in her home. Deeply regretted by her children Shannon & Calum, their dad Gary, her partner Mick, her mum Margaret, her sisters Marie Brady (London) & Anne Cafferty (London), brothers Hubert (Caherlistrane, Galway), Pete (Ardrahan) & Anthony (Mountdelvin), brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, neighbours & friends. Funeral arriving to St. Patrick's Church, Cloonfad on Saturday morning for Funeral Mass at 10am with the funeral proceeding to Shannon Crematorium for service at 1pm. Suddenly and peacefully at his residence. Dearly loved husband of Rosaleen.Sadly missed by his wife, brothers Ernest and Kenneth, sisters Marie and Evelyn (Enniskillen), brother-in-law Jimmy, sisters-in-law Noelle, Sandra, Joan Glimartin (Sligo),  Kathleen McEaney (Dundalk) and Delia Lynch (Northampton), nephews, nieces, relatives, neighbours and many friends. Reposing at his residence today Saturday from 4pm to 8pm and on Sunday from 3pm to 6pm. Funeral will arrive to the Cathedral of The Immaculate Conception for Requiem Mass on Monday morning at 11:30am with burial afterwards in Sligo Cemetery. Family flowers only please, donations if desired to The Irish Heart Foundation.

Peacefully, in the care of the staff at Drumderrig Nursing Home, Boyle. Sadly missed by his sister-in-law Lucy, his niece Helena, his nephews Joseph, Seán, Joseph, John and Seamus, his nephew-in-law, his nieces-in-law, his relatives, his neighbours and his many friends. Reposing at Shivnan’s Funeral Home, Ballyfarnon on Sunday evening from 5pm 7.30pm. Removal to St. Patrick’s Church, Crossna arriving 8pm. Mass of Christian Burial on Monday afternoon at 1pm. Interment afterwards in Ardcarne Cemetery.
