Road sign
The footpath along the Carrick road in Drumshanbo may be considered for inclusion in future IPB funding schemes to assess its condition.
Cllr Enda McGloin submitted a motion before Ballinamore municipal district, highlighting concerns over “significant dips and trip hazards.”
In response, the Roads department stated that a section of the footpath could be included on any future IPB funding schemes.
“If there is a particular area that represents an issue, we can look at sections individually,” the reply concluded.
Cllr McGloin also proposed a motion requesting the Council to review road number L 33091-1 at Derrynawana, Aghacashel and install appropriate signage.
“Someone who wasn't used to that road got a fight coming off the steep incline. If we could get the necessary warning signs I’d be happy,” Cllr McGloin said.
In response, district engineer Darragh O’Boyle confirmed that a steep incline sign will be installed.
A reply stated, “We can erect steep incline signs but the people using the road, and living on the road, should be well aware of the topography."
