The organisers of the launch of the ‘County Leitrim Percy French Society’ thank very sincerely everybody associated with the very successful night in the Hunt Hall, Mohill on Friday July 20.
It was a very special night and this was down to the wonderful, responsive audience who sang along with all the songs and became fully involved with the whole story of Percy. Sincere appreciation goes to Senator David Norris for his wonderful contribution. Senator Norris has agreed to be President of the County Leitrim Percy French Society and we look forward to his attendance at future events.
Apologies to anybody who didn’t get in to the hall and also to the people who had to stand for the whole performance. A huge thank you goes to our sponsors, the Hanly Hotel Group, Lough Rynn Castle, Ramada Hotel Drumshanbo, Dugdale Wholesalers, Supervalu Ballinamore, Tesco Ballinamore and Teresa Kennedy Glenview House, Ballinamore.
After the excitement and success of the launch of the ‘County Leitrim Percy French Society’ – quo vadis? Where to now?
Tish Dunleavy and Frank Cadam as artistic directors of the Percy French Show are currently working on a project for next May 2013. The big event will involve a weekend of events, which will have a Percy French theme. They hope that as many people around the county will get involved in one way or another.
In the meantime, from September this year, Leitrim’s Percy French Society will meet on the last Friday of every month at 8.30pm in Hunt Hall, Mohill to discuss the life and works of Percy French. This might interest people who already have a great love for French’s works, people who know nothing about Percy but would love to know about him and people who know a little but would like to know more. For more information please contact Tish Dunleavy on (086) 0827430 or email: firstname.lastname@example.org
