Leitrim's place in the quarter finals of the TG4 LGFA All-Ireland Intermediate Championship was confirmed on Sunday afternoon after Kildare stormed to a comprehensive 2-8 to 0-3 victory over Louth, securing second place in group 1 for the Green & Gold.
It means that Jonny Garrity's side will face one from Antrim, Clare or Wexford away from home on Sunday July 9, with a place in the All-Ireland Semi-Finals at stake. The draw takes place on Monday June 26.
There was drama for newly crowned Connacht Intermediate champions Roscommon who must face Louth in a relegation playoff after the Connacht side lost out by six points to Monaghan while Longford will take on Offaly in the other relegation decider, the losers of both games being relegated to the Junior ranks for 2024.
