Leitrim are on the search for a new Assistant Manager after it has been revealed that Mike Solan has stepped away from the role with the County Senior footballers due to work commitments.
Solan, who guided Mayo underage teams to All-Ireland success, was appointed as Assistant Manager when Andy Moran took on the reins with Leitrim ahead of the 2022 season and has been an integral part of the backroom team.
Confirming the news with the Observer, manager Andy Moran said that losing Solan from the management team would be a "big loss" to the Leitrim set-up and to him personally, given their long friendship but that it was also an exciting time to see who they could bring in to replace the experienced Ballaghadeereen clubman.
Moran confirmed that a replacement has not been appointed yet but they would be seeking out a top quality candidate to replace Solan.
Moran was accompanied by Solan, Aughnasheelin's Barry McWeeney and Sligo's Luke Bree on the management team last year, Bree having replaced James Glancy who joined up with Paddy Christie in Longford.
