As the Leitrim club championship season draws to a close, Leitrim Ladies are already planning for a very busy January with three games in the expanded Lidl NFL Division 4 after the LGFA released their fixture master plan for 2024.
This weekend sees the conclusion of the Leitrim mens and ladies club championships with five finals down for decision. Centrepiece is the Senior Hurling Final between holders Carrick-on Shannon and Cluainin in Avant Money Pairc Sean Mac Diarmada on Saturday while the Vistamed Junior B & C deciders are down for Sunday.
Saturday also sees the LGFA Club season come to a close with the Gotham Dry Wall Intermediate and Junior Finals but for county players, any break is going to be short with the Lidl LGFA National Leagues due to restart for Division 4 counties on the second weekend of January.
With Division 4 now featuring seven full rounds instead of north and south divisions, it means Jonny Garrity's Ladies senior team will start their season on Sunday January 14, with two more games in the month of January. The schedule doesn't ease up with four games in a row between February 11 and March 3, with the top four teams qualifying for League semi-finals on March 24, and the final scheduled for Saturday April 6.
The Provincial championships get underway in April with the TG4 All-Ireland Intermediate campaign starting on Sunday June 1, with group games on each of the following two weekends. Quarter Finals are fixed for June 30, semi-finals on July 14, and the finals in Croke Park on August 4.
