Leitrim Minors Tier 3 All-Ireland Semi-Final clash fixed for Cavan venue on Saturday

Leitrim football faces two big games on Saturday with the news that the Minor team's Electric Ireland MFC Tier 3 All-Ireland Semi-Final clash with Down has been fixed for Lavey GAA Club in Cavan at 1pm.

The early start times means that fans will have plenty of time to make it to Glennon Brothers Pearse Park in Longford for the clash of Andy Moran's Senior team with Kildare in the third round of the Tailteann Cup (6pm throw-in).

According to Google Maps, the most direct route between the two venues is 53.3km (33.1 miles) and depending on traffic conditions, should take approximately 51 minutes for fans to travel between both venues.

Leitrim qualified for the semi-finals of the new Tier 3 championship by defeating London 3-18 to 1-6 last Sunday at the Connacht GAA Centre of Excellence while Down defeated Limerick 3-14 to 0-7 in their clash in Grangegorman, Co Meath while Westmeath take on Laois in the other semi-final on Saturday.

Leitrim take on a Down team who reached the Ulster Minor League Final earlier this year, losing to eventual championship winners Derry in the final. They lost out to Tyrone and Monaghan in the group stages in the championship and beat Fermanagh and semi-finalists Donegal in the championship.

In other news, Mohill's Philly McGuinness Park has been fixed as the venue for Friday's Westlink Coaches U15 Division 1 League Final between St Mary's Kiltoghert and Annaduff.
