Leitrim GAA announces structure for this summer's Junior championships 

Leitrim County Board has officially confirmed the structure, seeding, and group draws for the 2025 Junior Football Championships.

2025 Leitrim Junior A Football Championship

Ten teams will contest the Junior A Championship, with one earning promotion to the IFC in 2026, while two will be relegated to JFC B in 2026.

The Junior A Championship will feature two groups of five teams, playing in a round-robin format. Group winners will advance directly to the semi-finals, while second and third-placed teams will contest crossover quarter-finals (2nd vs 3rd, 3rd vs 2nd). The semi-final draw ensures that group winners will not face each other until a potential final.

The bottom teams in each group will play each other in a relegation final to decide who drops to Junior B football for 2026.

Group 1:

  • Aughavas
  • Aughnasheelin
  • Glencar/Manorhamilton
  • Glenfarne/Kiltyclogher
  • Melvin Gaels

Group 2:

  • Eslin
  • Drumreilly
  • Cloone
  • Annaduff
  • Mohill

2025 Leitrim Junior B Football Championship

Eight teams will contest this year's Junior B Championship, with the winner gaining promotion to JFC A in 2026, while one team will be relegated to JFC C in 2026.

This year’s Junior B Championship will feature two groups of four teams, including the side relegated from JFC A 2024, as well as returning JFC B and JFC C champions. All teams will contest a round-robin group stage.

The top two teams in each group will progress to the semi-finals (1st vs 2nd from opposite groups). The bottom teams from each group will face a relegation final, with the loser dropping to Junior C in 2026.

Group 1:

  • Allen Gaels
  • Gortletteragh
  • St Patrick’s Dromahair
  • Fenagh St. Caillin’s

Group 2:

  • Ballinamore Sean O’Heslin’s
  • Carrigallen
  • Kiltubrid
  • Leitrim Gaels

2025 Leitrim Junior C Football Championship

The Junior C Championship comprises two groups of five teams each, including the relegated team from JFC B 2024 and newly eligible clubs. The top two teams in each group will advance to the semi-finals (1st vs 2nd, 2nd vs 1st). No relegation occurs from JFC C. The winner earns promotion to Junior B for 2026.

Group 1:

  • Mohill
  • Leitrim Gaels
  • St Mary’s Kiltoghert
  • Aughawillan
  • Drumkeerin

Group 2:

  • Melvin Gaels
  • Aughavas
  • Glenfarne/Kiltyclogher
  • Glencar/Manorhamilton
  • Bornacoola

Fixture Scheduling & Tie-Breaking

The Leitrim County Board will determine the order of round-robin fixtures across all championships. Any ties at the conclusion of the group stages will be resolved according to GAA Official Guide Code 11.1 (2025).

With promotion and relegation consequences at every level, the 2025 Junior Championships are set to deliver another thrilling summer of football across the county.
