Leitrim GAA have revealed the dates of the Connacht Gold Leitrim SFC Quarter-Finals and the final round of group games in the Smith Monumentals IFC with next Sunday, September 21, promising to be a hectic event with the final round of Sweeney Oil Leitrim LGFA Senior Championship games also taking place.
County Champions Mohill put their Fenagh Cup title on the line next Saturday, September 20, in Pairc Sean Mac Diarmada when they take on Glencar Manorhamilton in the first of two semi-finals while Sunday, September 21, will see Aughawillan take on neighbours Ballinamore Sean O'Heslins, also in Pairc Sean Mac Diarmada, at 4pm.
With the redeveloped pitch at the County ground in Carrick-on-Shannon under restrictions for it's first year of use, it is believed that no double headers will be held in Pairc Sean Mac Diarmada during this year's club championship season.
Sunday will also see the final round of the Smith Monumentals IFC and with four teams headed into a relegation battle where three will make the drop to Junior in 2026, the battle at the bottom promises to be ever bit as intense as the top of the table.
In the Sweeney Oil LGFA Senior Championship, the clash of Ballinamore Sean O'Heslins and St Mary's Kiltoghert on Sunday morning is a 'winner takes all' encounter as the winner is guaranteed a place in the semi-finals, although the Ballinamore hosts do have an advantage as a draw will be enough to see them qualify.
Champions Glencar Manorhamilton, who beat St Mary's in Carrick in a high scoring 3-15 to 3-10 encounter, will host St Francis while St Joseph's, who held off a strong Ballinamore fightback in the second half to win 1-9 to 1-6, will be looking to lock up second place in the table if they beat Kiltubrid on their travels. Kiltubrid are consigned to the relegation playoff after they lost out to St Francis, 2-8 to 2-5.
The Intermediate grade reaches the semi-final stage with table toppers Dromahair, fresh from a hard fought 0-10 to 0-7 win over neighbours Drumkeerin, will take on Fenagh while Mohill, who defeated St Brigid's 2-4 to 1-5 to ensure their place in the semi-finals, face Drumkeerin in the semi-finals.
