Leitrim SFC Relegation Final replay set for Ballinaglera on Saturday October 11

Leitrim GAA: Delay in Senior Relegation Final between St Mary's & Melvin Gaels means Intermediate Relegation Semi-Final between St Mary's & Kiltubrid pushed back

Saturday October 11, may just prove to be a Super Saturday in Leitrim GAA terms after the County Board's Competitions Control Committee revealed that the Connacht Gold SFC Relegation Final replay between Melvin Gaels and St Mary's Kiltoghert will take place on the same day as the Sweeney Oil LGFA Senior & Junior Championship Final.

Melvin Gaels snatched an injury time equaliser to draw 0-15 to 1-12 with St Mary's Kiltoghert in Ballinaglera on Saturday and the teams will return to St Hugh's Park for the replay with a 3 pm throw-in. The extra game in the Senior Relegation decider is an added complication for the Smith Monumentals IFC relegation semi-finals as the clash of Kiltubrid and St Mary's second string cannot take place before the Senior Relegation Final.

If St Mary's lose the Senior Relegation Final, it means that their second team is automatically relegated, advancing Kiltubrid to the Intermediate relegation final where they will meet the winners of Gortletteragh and Ballinaglera who meet on Saturday October 4, in Leitrim Village at 2.30 pm.

Another potential twist is if either of the two Connacht Gold SFC Semi-Finals next weekend end in a draw, they must take place over the weekend of October 11-12, with the County Final scheduled for Sunday October 19.

October 11, is shaping up to be a very busy day with the Sweeney Oil LGFA Senior Final between champions Glencar Manorhamilton and St Joseph's set for Pairc Sean Mac Diarmada while the Junior A Final between Annaduff and Keeldra Gaels is also pencilled in for that day.

Also down for Saturday October 11, is the Smith Monumentals IFC Semi-Final between Drumkeerin and St Patrick's Dromahair, a 5 pm throw-in at Drumshanbo's Shane McGettigan Park with the second semi-final taking place on Sunday October 12, in Pairc Sean Mac Diarmada at 4pm with Annaduff taking on Allen Gaels.

The Fresh Today Junior A Quarter-Finals will take place next Sunday, October 5, with Cloone taking on Glenfarne Kiltyclogher in Drumshanbo and Aughnasheelin facing Mohill in Kiltubrid, both games throwing-in at 1pm.

The full list of fixtures for the next two weekends is as follows: (Leitrim LGFA venues and dates have yet to be fully confirmed)
