Storm Amy has had another side effect on the Leitrim GAA programme with the news that today's Fresh Today Junior A Championship Quarter-Final between Aughnasheelin and Mohill will now take place in Carrigallen at 1pm.
The game was originally fixed for Kiltubrid but the heavy rains over the last few days has meant the Junior A Quarter Final has been switched to Carrigallen. The other quarter-final between Cloone and Glenfarne Kiltyclogher goes ahead at planned in Drumshanbo's Shane McGettigan Park, also at 1pm.
A number of games, including the entire final round of group games in the Westlink Coaches U17 Division 1 Championship and the Smith Monumentals IFC Relegation semi-final between Ballinaglera and Gortletteragh, fell victim to the weather on Saturday. It means that the expected final date for the U17 Championship could be pushed back to the October Bank Holiday weekend.
One success story of the weekend, however, was the fantastic condition of the new playing surface in Heartland Credit Union Pairc Sean Mac Diarmada. Despite the downpours that afflicted the county over the weekend, the new Prunty Pitch held up remarkably well with players singing it's praises after the game.
