Cloone GAA pitch
Leitrim players and officials will be anxiously awaiting on a pitch inspection on Wednesday morning to see if the Dalata Hotels Connacht U20 Championship match against Galway scheduled for Cloone will go ahead.
In a communication with the media, Connacht GAA revealed that St. Mary's Park in Cloone is subject to pitch inspection tomorrow (Wednesday) morning following torrential downpours on Tuesday. The Provincial body also revealed that the Connacht GAA Centre of Excellence in Bekan will be the standby venue if required.
The game was orignially fixed for a 5.30 pm throw-in in Heartland Credit Union Pairc Sean Mac Diarmada tomorrow but was moved to Cloone after consulations with the Leitrim management, the game due to take place under lights.
If the game is moved, it will mean that Leitrim's U20 squad, featuring Senior players Paul Honeyman, Eanna McNamara, Ruairi O'Rourke and Tom Plunkett, will lose home advantage.
